Ryan a Ronnie

A film, written by Meic Povey, following one fateful day in the lives of the entertainers when their highly successful partnership was on the verge of collapse.

In the 1960s and 1970s Ryan Davies and Ronnie Williams were the stars of the Welsh entertainment world. Now the the much-loved - and much-missed - double act is the focus of a new film which receives its TV première on Christmas Day.

Aled Pugh - who also played Ryan in the stage show The Life of Ryan and Ronnie - stars as the brilliant entertainer from Glanaman and Rhys ap Hywel plays his talented stage partner from Cefneithin, Ronnie.

Ffion Dafis, Lauren Phillips and Glan Davies also feature in the film, directed by Rhys Powys and produced by Branwen Cennard.

The music for the film was adapted by Arwyn Davies, Ryan's son.

This moving documentary following the personal and professional journey of Arwyn Davies, son of the much loved entertainer, Ryan Davies, as he sets about to arrange his fathers popular music for a film based on Ryan and Ronnie's lives; two of Wales' best-loved entertainers.

From his home studio to recording in London, and working with the actors, the process is long, and inevitably stirs bitter sweet memories for Arwyn.
